Saturday August 21: Day Two In Germany

We will have a really busy day this day. We are going to Dachau Concentration Camp then head south and stop and explore Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

After that, our next stop will be the Zugspitze. We are going to take the cogwheel train up and the gondola down.

We are then heading west to Fuessen for the night. I found a place to stay Hotel Sonne that looks OK, we'll just have to find out on our own. We will explore the Neuschwanstein Castle in the morning.

Friday August 20: Day One In Germany Continued

After we have the car we will travel to our hotel. I found a Courtyard by Marriott hotel (at least I know what to expect) right in the middle of downtown. It is located within walking distance to the Marionsplatz where the famous Munich Glockinspiel is.

We hope to arrive and check in to the hotel, freshen up, and make it to the square in time to see the final performance of the week for the Rathaus-Glockenspiel that occurs at 17:00 hours.

Friday August 20: Day One In Germany

When we arrive at the Munich airport we will be going directly to the BMW Welt and "collecting" our new car. I hope it will not have any problems with it!

I have a contributing part to the blog! woohoo!! :D

Well, here I go with my first blog post. Our European vacation plans are nearly complete. We are scheduled to depart from Los Angeles Thursday August 19 and return on Sunday September 5. Our trip will include stops in 8 countries in the following order; England, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland, France, England, Scotland then back to England. Our trip will include driving most through these countries. Since we were in need of a new car anyway, we decided to order a new BMW and take delivery of it at the BMW Welt facility in Munich on Friday afternoon right after we land. Needless to say we well be very tired when we arrive. We have not made any hotel reservations for our driving portion through Europe yet because we have not decided where we want to stay.
